After learning the basics of acting it’s natural for an aspirant to try and find work and earn some money and if one wants to become a professional actor then money earning is an essential part which needs some planning and a strategy.
GOAL SETTING
Set and plan your goals carefully as today there is lot of work for actors but one must have a right approach towards it .
Initially a beginner must target television, OTT platforms and TV ADS as all these areas are not difficult to explore. Today there are various casting agencies and casting directors who do the job of connecting actors to the production houses.
Actors must understand it themselves that initially all casting is done on the basis of appearance and looks. So this means that a beginner must not have any misconception regarding himself and, most possibly he can get casted in those roles which have a resemblance with his basic appearance .Later on when he proves himself as a talented actor then other roles can be tried on him.
Initially make a target of reaching out to all casting agencies and keep giving auditions bearing in mind that you might get such roles only, the way you appear in real life .In one year you must try and connect with all TV production houses and their casting people must be aware of your portfolio .Here one may specify the target by approaching such TV shows which are episodic in structure as in such shows there is need of actors for every new episode.
Later on the next year or two years hence one may try for major roles and bigger roles as by now one must have created an impression of being a good actor .Good actors ,who are dedicated and discipline are always on demand and get jobs off and on ,once their few works are noticed properly.
